Author Representation

From her brownstone office in historic Park Slope, Brooklyn, Linda closely guides authors as they develop their book ideas and their writing careers. Linda’s relationships with her clients include:

Concept and Editorial Development: Provides hands on editorial guidance to authors as they develop book concepts and create compelling and selling proposals for submission to publishers. When beneficial, Linda matches authors with writing collaborators to help develop projects.

Profile and Platform Building Guidance: Consults with authors to develop or expand their presence and discoverability as influencers in the arenas in which they want to publish.

Business Representation and Advocacy: Works to match the author with a publishing company that shares the author’s vision and shows commitment and passion for the project. Negotiates beneficial deals and reviews publisher contracts. Works with top experts in the foreign rights and entertainment industries as well as developers in electronic media to manage adaptations of projects, where appropriate.

Publication Education and Support: Coaches authors throughout the publication process, educating them on the steps from manuscript development to book publication and championing the authors’ interests throughout the process.

Marketing and Publicity Strategy: Provides strategic advice and support as marketing and publicity plans are developed with the publisher.

Career Consulting: Advises the author on an ongoing basis about his or her editorial future, as well as how books can further the author’s goals and mission beyond publishing.

Works on a Commission Basis: Retains a 15% commission on domestic sales; a 20% commission on British Commonwealth and translation deals when a co-agent partners with The Loewenthal Company.
